ZOE

Zoe Ortueta is an Out of State recruit from Miami Florida for Division Two Lackawanna College. She is currently enrolled in the Accelerated Nursing Program and will pursue a Graduate Degree as a Nurse Practitioner.

She coached various age groups since 2018 including her role as Head Coach for the Jorge Mas Canosa Middle School JV team for three years. Zoe led her team to the Southern Championship x3, Regional Championship x4, District Championship x4 and ALL- DADE County Champions x4!  She also assisted the Boys JV & Varsity Teams in practices and coached the 16s & 17s girls state travel team for the Miami Hype Volleyball Club.

Growing up, Zoe played for John A Ferguson High School where her team received the District and GMAC Championship award in 2021-2022. She also has experience in beach tournaments and has played beach volleyball for a few years.

In her first year of collegiate play, Zoe was transitioned from Setter to Libero. Zoe and her all freshman team set records this year. For the first time in the history of Lackawanna College Volleyball, the team went 8-0 undefeated in the Region and hosted the Playoffs. This year they won back The REGION XIX Championship which had only been done once in 2006. She ended the season ranked Number #1 Libero for Serve Receptions/ Receive in the Region as well as ranking #6 in the Conference for Digs! Zoe was recognized as Athlete of the Week and selected for the Meet The Team Individual Interview.

She played various positions and has a strong belief that being versatile enables you to grow as an individual and as a teammate. Zoe has a genuine interest and passion for creating humble athletes as well as helping them to develop into positive and respectable individuals outside of volleyball.
