KATE
Kate Lindholm is currently assistant coaching the Lackawanna College Volleyball Program as well as working as an Enrollment Counselor at Lackawanna College.
She graduated with her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Bloomsburg University after completing her Bachelor of Science in ASL/English Interpreting. While studying, Kate played as a defensive specialist for Bloomsburg for 2 years then began coaching for Gold Medal Squared which is an evidence based, volleyball training platform, proven nationwide to help coaches and teams win for more than 30 years. With this new skill set, she transitioned from player to assistant coach of the Bloomsburg Women’s Volleyball team. While at BU, she implemented a culture training program and helped the team advance to conference playoffs in 2021 – only the third competition season of the team’s history at Bloomsburg. After this season, she was awarded the 2021 AVCA Coaches for Coaches Convention Scholarship to attend the AVCA Convention in Columbus, Ohio.
As a high school athlete, Kate attained Mid-Penn, District 3, Big 15, and All-State Volleyball All-Star Athlete accolades. During this time, Kate volunteer coached the Trinity Junior High School Volleyball JV team for 4 years and has coached camps for athletes ages 8-18 on and off for the past 9 years.
Kate was one of the first coaches to help start the WiseTown Volleyball Club in Berwick, PA. She coached at WiseTown from 2019 to 2022. In addition to coaching a travel team, she ran a training group for athletes who were not on a travel team for WiseTown.
Since 2022, Kate has volunteered with USA Deaf Volleyball to bring awareness to the program, fundraise, plan and run youth camps for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing athletes, and prepare for the upcoming World Deaf Volleyball Champions and the Deaflympic Games.
Last year, Kate coached the U16 girls club team and ran classes and camps to enhance volleyball skills for athletes of all skill-levels. This season, Kate plans to coach both boys and girls club teams and continue to run Skills and Drills classes.
Kate believes in inclusion, celebrating differences, and the importance of providing equal access to volleyball regardless of language, physical ability, experience, gender, or age. She looks forward to continuing to grow the love for volleyball as well as the level of play in the NEPA area. Coaching is a passion for Kate and NUVA is excited to have her on board, now in the capacity of Lead Coach Coordinator.
